  • How Can We Make Packaging Sustainable?

Ditch the plastic and embrace Denmaur's environmentally friendly solutions

Microplastic pollution has been found at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest point on the planet, and near the summit of Mount Everest, the world's highest.

Convenient and multi-purpose, plastic packaging has permeated all aspects of our lives but in turn, plastic waste has polluted our environment.

How do we ease our dependence on such a damaging resource? By choosing more sustainable options, which is where we come in.

Sustainably produced paper is at the very heart of our sourcing policy, yet many myths still circulate about paper's green credentials. While highly recyclable, it is not infinitely so, and virgin paper from new trees is needed to maintain the paper cycle.

The European Paper Recycling Council said: "paper recycling needs to continuously incorporate a certain amount of fresh fibres for three main reasons: strength, quality and availability".

To ensure sustainability, virgin material must be sourced from responsibly managed forests, which means baking in the idea of sustainability right at the start of the supply chain.

All our products are made from either FSC® or PEFC™ certified and traceable pulp sources, including our Delipac range, which is 100% recyclable, compostable and biodegradable: perfect for the food and beverage industry.

Our Revive Greyboard is manufactured from 100% FSC® recycled, certified post-consumer waste pulp and is an ideal packaging solution for multiple applications.

Newly added to the EcoFoil range is EcoFoil Carton, supplied in 235-260gsm. EcoFoil products are manufactured without a PET top layer and have been certified as plastic free by A Plastic Planet and is 100% recyclable at its end-of-life stage. EcoFoil is also the first foil-board material to be approved for dry toner, inkjet and HP digital presses (certification procedure in process).

All of our paper and board products are plastic free, and with Carbon Balancing customers and end users can to easily enhance their environmental credentials when sourcing or specifying their own paper.
